Mental Health and Religion at Imperial Union
This past Friday night 45 students gathered at the Chabad of South Kensington Friday night Shabbat dinner, which was held at the Imperial Union. Speakers included Professor Kate Loewenthal from NYU London who spoke on “Mental Health and Religion” and Dr. Naftali Loewenthal from UCL who spoke on a range of topics including the “ Meta-history of Judaism”.
“I found every talk immensely inspiring and interesting,” said Joseph Shine, an undergraduate at the department of chemistry, Imperial College London. “I learnt a great deal from it”.
“The warm atmosphere, the interesting people, the thought provoking talks and the delicious food made this a great Shabbat dinner. I made new friends and met old ones. It felt really good to feel at home while being away from home,” said Alexander Fischer, postgraduate student at the business school, Imperial College London. “Thank you for the opportunity to address central questions in Judaism in an intellectual and inspiring manner”.
Chabad of South Kensington looks forward to hosting its Maimonides Lecture on March the 1st, which will take place at Imperial College and will feature Professor Tzvi Langermann, who will talk on “Maimonides and Wholesome Living.” For more information please visit www.SKchabad.com
