Mr Herman Rothman captivated dozens of students including 2 of his grandchildren at Nottingham Chabad with his fascinating life story. In an emotion filled talk he spoke about growing up as a child in Nazi Germany, and his family's miraculous escape to England thanks to tip-offs from a friendly German police officer.
He joined the British army and later became an Intelligence Officer, where during interrogation of Nazi officers, Hitler's Will was discovered, and he was assigned to translate it.
"this was an incredibly personal and moving account of a man who played such an important part in history" said one student.
