Tu b'shvat (the New Year for Trees) was celebrated in Bristol on Tuesday evening at the Bristol Hebrew Congregation’s Park Row synagogue with a seder.

Rabbi Dovid Usiskin, the Bristol Chabad rabbi, and his wife Leah arranged a meal of fruits, wine and cake.

During the seder Rabbi Usiskin explained the meaning of Tu b’shvat and the customs associated with it that include eating the different fruits and food made from the grains that emanate from the land of Israel.

The event, which was attended by people from all parts from the local Jewish community, attracted around 35 adults and children.
